We know you've been eagerly waiting for this, so we're excited to invite you to our iconic International Dinner - the perfect opportunity to showcase your cooking skills, try dishes from other countries, and most importantly, share and enjoy an unforgettable evening with the best company, all in true ESN Vigo style.
The main goal of this event is for you to prepare a traditional dish from your home country and share it with the other participants, so everyone can discover flavours from different cultures. To make things easier for you, we will provide a microwave, disposable cups, plates, cutlery, and napkins, so everyone can taste your delicious creations.
We will be awarding prizes to the top three dishes or desserts made by Erasmus participants, but don’t worry, volunteers- you´ll have a special prize for the best dish among you as well!
We encourage you to upload photos of your cooking process to Instagram, tagging @esnvigo and using the hashtag #ESNVigoInternationalDinner. The most original photo will win a prize! We can’t wait to see your creations! If your account is private, send us a screenshot of your story.
The rules for cooking are very simple:
- Form teams of 1 to 6 people and register your team through this FORM (you can modify your response after submitting it) before October 1st at 11:59 p.m.; after that, you can cook but not compete.
- Prepare dishes from your countries, savory or sweet, for several people as a team.
- You don't need to spend a lot of money ( €3 to €4 per person should be enough).
- Please bring a sheet with the name and ingredients of each of your dishes to inform people with allergies or specific diets.
- Bring the food, if possible, in disposable containers so you don't have to take them home after dinner and can continue enjoying the party.
- You’ll have an assigned table to present your dishes and must wait for the signal before eating. It’s forbidden to eat before the signal.
This event will take place on Thursday, October 3rd, at 9:30 p.m., at a venue reserved exclusively for ESN Vigo: Café de Mario.
Entry fee:
- Free if you bring food.
- €3 if you don’t bring food.
Please refrain from bringing outside drinks. The prices for drinks at the venue are as follows:
- Soft drinks: €2.10
- Milkshakes: €2.80
- Draft beer: €2.20
- Spirits: €4.50
- Cocktails: €4.00
- Shots: €1.50
- Water: €1.20
- Beer (bottle): €2.30
Bring cash, as the venue does not accept card payments!
The dinner will be full of surprises, and we’ll head out for a party afterward! It’s one of the best events of the semester, so don’t miss out. The more, the merrier!
