From ESN Vigo, we want you to start your Erasmus in the best possible way: with the first long trip of this semester! On the last weekend of February we will visit Santiago de Compostela & A Coruña.
The old city of Santiago is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Its cathedral —precisely dedicated to Santiago (Saint James) the apostle— is the destination of the hundreds of thousands of pilgrims that take the Way of Saint James each year. In fact, this is one of the three major Christian pilgrimage sites of the world.
A Coruña, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, has an Old Town, that includes an interesting set of Romanesque streets, squares and medieval churches as well as the Tower of Hercules —a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009— which has the honour to be oldest Roman lighthouse still active in the world. The modern part of the city includes the Aquarium, the Casa de las Ciencias (House of Sciences), the Domus museum (House of Humans), Riazor Stadium as well as offering one of the most beautiful sights of Riazor and Orzán beaches.
In addition to A Coruña, we could not miss the chance to visit A Costa da Morte (“Coast of Death”), a very interesting area thanks to its landscapes and high cliffs. On Sunday we will stop by the Ézaro Waterfall and Cape of Finisterre, where lots of pilgrims finish the Way of St. James.
If you are still hesitant, you must know that our friends of ESN Coruña will be there to help us and to party with us on Saturday night.
The price for the trip is:
- €100, if you pay before Sunday, 10th (included)
- €105, if you pay after Sunday, 10th.
The payment deadline is on Friday, 17th February (inclusive) or while there are places available. Go and book your seat before all of them are sold!
If you want to sign up for the trip, fill in THIS FORM and you will receive the payment instructions.
